Welcome to my Mersey build, my name is Mike.
Firstly let me explain a few things to you, no photo's were taken at the fitting stage, ie:- inserting of the propshaft, rudders, motors, and running gear, as it was not Pauls or mine to publish this on the web until recently. please feel free to browse through the photo's that i have just downloaded to the site.
The stage's of build are as follows, firstly i started with the building of the survivors cabin in the bow of the hull, this was quite easy to do but once the deck was applied then the only way to see it is from the hatch or when the wheelhouse is removed. ( see photo's.)
The second stage was to build the wheelhouse cabin, as i wanted it to be independant of the wheelhouse and that i could remove it to get to the running gear, you will see from the photo's that this was done.
The third stage was to get water to flow from the exhausts, this was done useing copper tube and plastic tube and of course a motor to pump the water through, a tube was placed in the hull, then a motor fitted, ( a visit to the scrap yard for a window screen washer motor ) this did the job quite nice.
The fouth stage was to get the trim tabs working, this was not easy to do as i was limited to space in the hull, but it was done useing plastic tube and aluminum tube together with a small servo, the tab is hinged to the hull as i will show you with a photo at a later date.
I am at present building my own stantions out of brass tube as i didn't want to use the cast one's, also building the mast as i also want this to fold down. Photo's of these will be updated soon.
I have today added some photo's of the stantions i made out of brass, also the fold down mast, which is not quite finished as yet, still got the antenna to put on. I will be working on the fold down window screen, and the brackets that fix to the mast, photo's of these will be posted as soon as i build them.
